The general tactic is to knock them out with your weapons then teleport your guys into that very room (to stop any enemies repairing it). The main hindrance to your boarding crew will be enemy recovery rooms. Also note you’ll need both in the same room to beam them back at the same time Don’t be afraid to pause when you do this. The aim is to keep them out of combat until you can beam them back. If you hit trouble and it’s still charging: Have your guys start running about the ship and keep them changing rooms.

Be aware though, the teleporter has a cool-down after use, so you have a window after sending them in where you can’t get them back. Keeping the boarding crew alive is vital. Always send in both at the same time, and aim for 2-man rooms (bigger rooms let enemies gang up and outnumber you) The latter has more HP and is immune to fire). To board, you need a good boarding crew – Which normally involves a combo of Mantis and/or Rockmen (the former is fast and deals higher damage. Teleportation is especially outstanding for the Flagship, as you can board the weapons rooms individually and offline them permanently Boarding lets you bypass this and take on the enemy crew directly, which with the right crew… can score a lot of easy victories.

Nothing is quite as frustrating as a fight where you’re spending ages trying to pry that decisive crack in the enemy shields to allow you to actually damage something… only to have it get repaired. Going weapons-only means you’re always forced to overcome the enemy shields. There are 2 primary reasons for this:įirstly, it opens your strategic options against ships.
